The U.S. is aware of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s recent whereabouts, an official told CNN. “In the last few weeks we’ve been aware of some of Baghdadi’s movements,” the person said, cautioning that Baghdadi is still alive despite claims on social media that he was killed. The claims only concern Baghdadi’s recent whereabouts, not a “real time” assessment of where he actually is. U.S. officials believe Baghdadi could be in hiding in Raqqa, Syria, but are not positive. This month, the U.S. raised its bounty for information leading to his capture, from $10 million to $25 million.
