Report: Zimmerman Destroyed Evidence

George Zimmerman is in the news again and, predictably, it’s not for being a model of good decision making. Police on Tuesday said that Zimmerman destroyed an iPad that may have had video of a dispute on Monday between him and his estranged wife, Shellie. Pieces of the device will now need to be examined in a crime lab to determine who could possibly be charged in the case. Shellie Zimmerman called 911 on Monday night to report her husband threatening her and her father with a gun. She also said that Zimmerman punched her father in the nose but later changed her story and decided not to press charges. Zimmerman’s lawyer, Mark O’Mara, said, “I know the 911 tape suggests that Shellie was saying something, but I think that was heightened emotions. There may have been some pushing and touching. That happens a lot in divorce situations ... Nobody was injured.”
