Two Long Island women have accused actor Richard Dreyfuss of groping them during a “creepy” backstage encounter in 2004. The women, identified only as Beth and Susan by the New York Daily News, said they were invited to meet Dreyfuss backstage after a Broadway production of Sly Fox. “The first thing he did was give me a hug, and he stuck his hand almost in the crack of my butt. He didn’t even give me any warning,” Beth told the Daily News, alleging he also grabbed her “by the boob” and “right above my private area.” The second woman, Susan, said Dreyfuss kissed her on the cheek “without permission” in the “creepy, weird, and awkward” meeting. Dreyfuss allegedly asked the women to stay backstage with him but they “made some excuse and left.” Beth said she decided to come forward after seeing Dreyfuss deny sexual-misconduct allegations leveled against him by writer Jessica Teich in November. “I think she’s telling the truth… I’ve been alone in a room with him and know what he’s like,” she said.
