Three attorneys for former Trump campaign official Rick Gates said in a federal court motion on Thursday that they were quitting Gates’ legal team, effective immediately. Gates was indicted as part of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election meddling and possible collusion between Trump associates and Russian operatives. Gates, who was a business partner of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, was charged with money laundering and other charges. The reason given for the lawyers’ exit was sealed by the federal court.
