February was a very good month for Rick Santorum fundraising-wise. The former Pennsylvania senator raised $9 million during the shortest month of the year—$3 million more than he’d raised during his entire campaign before that. The majority of his donations came from small donors who gave $200 or less, with only 11 percent of his donors contributing $2,500 or more. When accounting for all of the money spent by the campaign, $4.4 were raised for every $1 spent, the most money being used on media.
