Another GOP candidate possibly enters the fray: Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum announced Wednesday night that he is forming an exploratory committee to run for president in 2012. Santorum made his announcement his on Fox News after alerting supporters earlier in the day that he would have some big news. While a darling of social conservatives, Santorum is not one of the favorites for the GOP nomination—although he came out on top of a straw poll taken at the Greenville Country Republican convention in South Carolina last weekend. Santorum himself referred to himself as a “tortoise” and overlooked in the GOP presidential field.
