An ultranationalist French citizen has been arrested for allegedly plotting an attack on Euro 2016, officials announced Monday. Ukraine’s SBU intelligence agency said it thwarted the effort to disrupt the European soccer championship after the man bought machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades, and other weapons. He had allegedly planned more than a dozen attacks on railways, bridges, and other infrastructure during Euro 2016. The suspected wannabe terrorist was identified by French media as Gregoire Moutaux, 25, who is said to have wanted to protest against French immigration policy and the spread of Islam. He was apprehended on the border between Ukraine and Poland last month.
