Rihanna Named CFDA Fashion Icon: After countless red-carpet “wow” moments and a bevy of sartorial risk-taking, Bad Gal RiRi is finally getting the recognition she deserves. “We are proud to represent Rihanna with the CFDA Fashion Icon Award for her impact on the industry as fashion’s most exciting ambassador in recent memory,” the company's CEO, Steven Kolb, stated. The recording artist, who is joining the ranks of Lady Gaga, Iman, Kate Moss, and Nicole Kidman, will be honored for her contributions to the fashion industry as well as her philanthropic partnership with the M.A.C. AIDS Fund 'Viva Glam' campaign. [CFDA Press Release]

Steve Madden Teams With Brian Atwood: Brian Atwood, luxury shoe designer, has been sold by owner The Jones Group to multi-billion dollar company Steve Madden. Under control of the Madden Group, Atwood is looking to expand his designs into the menswear, handbag, and clothing spheres, as well as re-open his flagship location, which closed in mid-March. FLOTUS Pulls Out Prints For China Tour: Michelle Obama has added some seriously spring-y, printed ensembles to her already-stylish China tour wardrobe. For her visit to Peking University in Beijing, Obama sported a three-quarter-sleeve Carolina Herrera frock with a red, grey, black, tan, and light blue art-deco style pattern. Later that day, she wore a turquoise, horse-printed blouse with an array of colors, and Sunday, Obama donned a red and pink polka-dotted wrap dress by Diane von Furstenberg. [The Huffington Post]
