Riot-Prone Pumpkin Festival Cancelled

License denied by N.H. council.

This year, citizens of Keene, New Hampshire will not have to worry about massive riots destroying the town during their annual Pumpkin Festival—the city council denied to grant a license 13-1. Last year, over 2,000 people erupted into alcohol-fueled violence and destruction during the Halloween celebration, which resulted in police being forced to use tear gas and pepper balls to control the crowd.
