The ear, nose, and throat specialist who was in the clinic operating room when Joan Rivers went into cardiac arrest was not authorized to practice medicine in the facility. The ENT had been brought in by the comedian’s gastroenterologist, and inspected her voice box twice during the surgery. Neither the gastroenterologist nor the ENT has been accused of wrongdoing. Apparently the medical director at the clinic where Joan Rivers went into cardiac arrest is no longer practicing there.
