Another day, another embarrassment for Michael Steele: The Republican National Committee has already earned some scrutiny for sending out a misleading fundraising letter that looks like a national-census form. One details that their knockoff got wrong? According to Politico, the RNC letter lists a phone-sex number next to the Republican Party’s address. Dialing the number brings up an operator offering “live, one-on-one talk with a nasty girl who will do anything you want for just $2.99 per minute.” RNC communications director Doug Heye explains, “The number in question was a typographical error by a vendor used on this particular mailer — using 1-800 instead of 202.” He adds, “This is an isolated incident and will not be repeated in the future.”
