But which is it, safe or out?
It’s been much discussed and shouted about over the years. Jackie Robinson’s mad 270-foot dash to steal home plate in the first game of the 1955 World Series, sliding through the dirt to beat pitcher Whitey Ford’s ball in what the umpire bid a successful gambit.
