Robot Kills Worker at Volkswagen Plant

A contractor at a Volkswagen production plant in Germany was killed this week by a robot, according to the automaker. The 22-year-old man was killed Monday in Baunatal while setting up a stationary robot. The robot grabbed and crushed the man against a metal plate, according to a spokesman. The spokesman said human error was to blame rather than the robot, but declined to give more details because of an ongoing investigation.
