From teletype to robots. The Associated Press, the largest news service in the United States, announced that it will begin using automation technology to produce some of its business content. Starting in July, AP will craft the stories about earning reports via software made by Automated Insights in order to "provide up to 4,400 automatically for companies throughout the United States each quarter,” according to managing editor Lou Ferrara. The AP has used such automation to produce sports content for years.
