The three University of Virginia students named as friends of “Jackie,” the young woman at the center of Rolling Stone’s quickly unraveling rape story, have come forward to reveal their real names and are speaking publicly about what happened that night. In Rolling Stone’s article, written by Sabrina Rubin Erdely, “Andy,” “Cindy,” and “Randall” are the first people to encounter Jackie after her horrific rape at a frat house. But the three told the Washington Post that they never spoke to Erdely or anyone else from Rolling Stone. Kathryn Hendley (“Cindy”), Alex Stock (“Andy”), and Ryan (“Randall”) say they found Jackie that night hysterical and claiming she had been sexually assaulted. Ryan (who did not want his last name published) said they still do not know “what actually happened” to Jackie.
