In response to a request by U.S. prosecutors seeking his extradition, prosecutors in Poland questioned filmmaker Roman Polanski. He has been wanted in the U.S. on charges for having sex with a minor in 1977. Deputy Foreign Minister Rafal Trzaskowski said the charges against Polanski have expired in Poland, providing no grounds for an extradition. Polanski lives in Paris, where he is immune from U.S. extradition requests. Back in 2010, he was placed under house arrest in Switzerland but then freed after the Swiss government refused to extradite him.
