Washington state euthanized 300 chickens filled with steroids after raiding a farm in Rochester. Hugo Gallegos Chavez, 35, was arrested on suspicion of raising the birds for cockfighting. Some 240 roosters and 60 hens were discovered in the search. When Chavez was brought into court on Tuesday, the judge found evidence for probable cause of 100 counts of animal cruelty, one count of illegal gambling, and one count of animal fighting. Cockfighting is illegal in all states.
