Lawyers for David Dao, the United Airlines passenger who was forcibly removed from his seat and dragged down the aisle Sunday night, took their first legal action Wednesday. Dao’s attorneys asked Illinois state court to order that all relevant surveillance footage, cockpit voice recordings, and other materials be preserved in order to avoid “serious prejudice” against Dao. The incident took place on a United Airlines flight that originated in Chicago and was bound for Louisville. Legal experts have posited that it is likely United Airlines will settle with the passenger due to the public-relations nightmare that has ensued.
