The on-the-record interviews, sadly, will be given in private—but will be transcribed and released to the public, Politico reports. The deal resolves a battle over executive privilege: President Bush had sought to block the testimony of his former aide and counsel, arguing that as presidential advisers, they were not obliged to testify before Congress.
