Roy Moore Deletes Facebook Post About Doug Jones’ Gay Son

The Alabama Senate race loser posted Carson Jones’ coming-out interview.

Alabama Senate race loser Roy Moore on Thursday deleted a Facebook post about his rival Doug Jones’ gay son Carson. Moore, who has yet to concede his loss to Jones in last week’s special U.S. Senate election, posted without comment to Facebook a link to The Advocate’s interview with Carson Jones, entitled, “Doug Jones’ Gay Son Is ‘Thrilled’ by the Alabama Win.” Moore is infamous for his long history of gay-bashing, and so as The Daily Beast’s Tim Teeman wrote, “there is only one reason that Moore linked to the interview on his page: to signal that Doug Jones has a gay son, and generate as much poison as he can from that from his supporters.” The Moore campaign removed the post at some point Thursday, however, and has not returned a request for comment from The Daily Beast.
