A zealous Kansas Royals fan caught a controversial home run ball by Mike Moustakas during Friday night’s game, causing rival team manager John Gibbons of the Blue Jays to issue a challenge and order umpires to look for fan interference. After reviewing video of the lucky catch, a replay official determined that the fan, 19-year-old Caleb Humphreys, did not reach over the wall to catch the ball or commit fan interference. “I saw it coming right at me,” Humphreys said. “And it just kind of happened, like: ‘This is Game 6 of the [ALCS], I played baseball my whole life, I had a great time playing baseball, and for it to actually happen, and to get a home run ball…” The Royals will now face the New York Mets in the World Series.
