Royals Open World Series with First Inside-the-Park Homer Since 1929
First inside-the-park HR since 1929.
USA TODAY Sports/Denny Medley
On the very first pitch thrown by New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey in game one of the 2015 World Series, Kansas City Royals leadoff hitter Alcides Escobar hit an inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the first inning, putting his team up 1-0. This was the first inside-the-park homer in a World Series since 1929.
