Rudy Giuliani: Sessions ‘Made the Right Decision’ to Recuse From Russia Probe

President Trump said he wouldn’t have nominated Sessions if he knew he’d recuse.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Monday that Attorney General Jeff Sessions “made the right decision under the rules of the Justice Department” to recuse himself from the ongoing Russia probe, CNN reported. Giuliani also squashed rumors that he was being considered to replace Sessions, who President Trump has publicly rebuked for recusing himself from the investigation. Trump told The New York Times last week that he would not have considered tapping Sessions for the position had he known that the former Alabama senator would recuse himself from the federal investigation into Russian election meddling in the 2016 campaign.
