There was a runaway at the royal wedding after all: One horse got so spooked during the royal wedding procession that it bucked its guardsman and ran away—just as Prince William and Kate passed by. The cavalry guardsman tried desperately to stay on, but was thrown onto the tarmac just as the carriage procession left Westminster Abbey and turned from Parliament Square onto Whitehall. Witnesses said Kate, who is allergic to horses, looked worried but that William reassured her. “The horse raced up the road right in front of Kate and William’s carriage, but you could see William calming Kate down,” said one witness.
