Rupert Murdoch Files for Divorce

Media magnate Rupert Murdoch has filed for divorce from his wife, Wendi Deng Murdoch. The filing was made Thursday morning in New York State Supreme Court. Murdoch married Wendi Deng in 1999 after she came to the U.S. on a student visa from China. Deng Murdoch is now the chief of strategy for MySpace’s operations in China, and briefly became a media sensation in 2011 when she shielded Murdoch from a pie thrown by a heckler during his testimony before the British Parliament over his London newspapers’ phone-hacking schemes. The couple have two children together.
