Russell Simmons Accused of Rape by Three Women

Three women have come forward alleging that rap mogul Russell Simmons raped them. One of the women, Drew Dixon, says Simmons sexually harassed and eventually raped her in the 1990s when she was working under Simmons as an executive at Def Jam Recordings, causing her to quit her job. Simmons told The New York Times, which revealed the allegations, that he “vehemently” denies the women’s accounts. “These horrific accusations have shocked me to my core and all of my relations have been consensual,” he said. Screenwriter Jenny Lumet has also accused Simmons of sexual assault, causing the 60-year-old to step aside from his companies.
