Twitter failed until Wednesday to remove the Vine accounts tied to Kremlin-linked Russian accounts, according to CNN. Vine, an app that allows the user to record and upload 6-second videos, was acquired by Twitter in 2012 and shuttered five years later. The Vine Archive is still up, though, and the videos posted by the Russian troll accounts—including one whose Vines had been “looped,” or replayed, more than 6 million times—remained until just after CNN asked Twitter about them on Wednesday.
