Russia has lost its appeal against a ban on competing in the Rio Paralympics over reported state-sponsored doping. The country is banned from the Sept. 7 competition by the International Paralympic Committee, and that move was affirmed Tuesday by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The latter organization’s panel said the IPC’s decision to ban all Russian competitors “was proportionate in the circumstances” and that it will release more details about its ruling in the near future.
