Russia may seize U.S. diplomatic property in Moscow if Washington doesn’t hand back two compounds in the United States that were seized last year, according to a report. President Obama in December ordered the expulsion of 35 Russians over their part in election meddling, and, at the time, authorities seized two Russian diplomatic compounds, one on New York’s Long Island and another in Maryland. The Kremlin has denied the meddling allegations but said in December it would wait to see if relations improved under President Trump. Daily newspaper Kommersant wrote the report, citing unnamed diplomatic sources. Russia allegedly plans to retaliate by seizing a U.S. diplomatic country house in northwest Moscow and another U.S. diplomatic warehouse in Moscow if the property isn't returned by July.
