Russia Suspends Flights to Egypt

Russia has suspended commercial flights to Egypt, saying it is a precautionary step until an investigation determines what brought down a Metrojet airliner last week, killing 224 on board. The move comes after the United Kingdom restricted flights to Sharm el-Sheikh after it said it intercepted communications that led it to believe a bomb was placed aboard by ISIS forces. Immediately after Putin’s annoucement, British jets en route to Sharm el-Sheikh were diverted or began turning around apparently because of airport congestion.
