Russian Court Convicts Five Men in Nemtsov Murder

A former soldier and four accomplices were found guilty of the assassination.

A Russian court convicted five men Thursday of murdering Boris Nemtsov, a strong critic of Vladimir Putin. The opposition leader, who was working on a report examining Moscow’s role in Ukraine’s upheaval at the time, was shot near the Kremlin in 2015. The men convicted include Zaur Dadayev, who prosecutors say pulled the trigger, and four accomplices. The hearing lasted eight months.
