Arkady Babchenko, a 41-year-old Russian journalist who was critical of the Kremlin, was shot and killed at his apartment in Kiev, the Associated Press reports. The journalist was found bleeding by his wife and died on the way to the hospital. Babchenko, who had served in the Russian army in the 1990s, left Russia in February 2017 amid concerns that he might be thrown in jail. In Kiev, he was working as a host for the Crimean Tatar TV station, ATR.
