Well, no one can say the Russian Olympics are off to a boring start. The relay of Russia's Olympic torch into Moscow over the weekend was interrupted when the flame went out after it was carried through the Kremlin. Though a helpful security guard re-ignited it with his cigarette lighter, it was apparently just the beginning of the torch's troubles: It has reportedly gone out four times since Sunday and still has 41,000 miles to go, from the bottom of Lake Baikal to outer space. Pro-Kremlin deputies have called for a criminal investigation into the perpetually extinguishing torches. There is a silver lining though: The Russian government ordered 16,000 torches, so at least one is bound to work properly.
