Firing was “the right thing to do,” said mayor.

The San Antonio Police Department reportedly fired an officer for allegedly attempting to feed a fecal sandwich to a homeless person, My San Antonio reported Friday. According to sources familiar with the case, Officer Matthew Luckhurst—a five-year veteran of the force—put fecal matter between two slices of brad and gave it to a homeless person. The officer reportedly told his colleagues what he had done in the July incident, and it came to light when other officers were “disgusted” by his actions. “Firing this officer was the right thing to do,” Mayor Ivy Taylor said in a statement. “His actions were a betrayal of every value we have in our community, and he is not representative of our great police force.”
