Prop 8 isn't dying as quickly as many had hoped. San Diego County Clerk Ernest Dronenburg filed a legal action on Friday looking to block same-sex couples from obtaining marriage licenses. No other elected official in the county is involved in the petition, and the county's Board of Supervisors is distancing itself from Dronenburg's action. What's the problem this time? Dronenburg claims the state can't make counties issue licenses until Proposition 8 is entirely out of the courts, despite the fact that the Supreme Court last month effectively ruled in favor of a lower court's decision to strike down the referendum. Dronenburg claims he merely wants legal clarification.
