Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz on Friday furiously called out the White House after U.S. Homeland Security chief Elaine Duke called the Trump administration’s relief response a “good news story.” Speaking with CNN’s New Day, Cruz went off: “Well, maybe from where she’s standing it’s a good news story. When you are drinking from a creek, it’s not a good news story. When you don’t have food for a baby, it’s not a good news story.” The mayor said Duke’s words upset and frustrated her. “This is—dammit, this is not a good news story. This is a people are dying story. This is a life or death story,” she said.
