CNN announced that it will hold a Democratic debate in Brooklyn on April 14, five days before the state’s primary. The announcement comes after a series of back-and-forths between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton as to when the event should actually take place. Sanders’s campaign said that it had planned a big rally in Manhattan that night and with much chagrin would change the date to accomodate the new schedule. “Fortunately, we were able to move a major New York City rally scheduled for April 14 to the night before,” a statement from the campaign read. “We hope the debate will be worth the inconvenience for thousands of New Yorkers who were planning to attend our rally on Thursday but will have to change their schedules to accommodate Secretary Clinton’s jam-packed, high-dollar, coast-to-coast schedule of fundraisers all over the country.”
