Bernie Sanders released a statement in which he acknowledged the base of voters into which president-elect Donald Trump tapped and pledged to work with him on these goals. “To the degree that Mr. Trump is serious about pursuing policies that improve the lives of working families in this country, I and other progressives are prepared to work with him," Sanders said in the statement. But he acknowledged that he will oppose any of the proposed policies that are based in hate. "To the degree that he pursues racist, sexist, xenophobic and anti-environment policies, we will vigorously oppose him.”
