Rick Santorum confessed Thursday that the real reason his presidential campaign was cut short was because he ran out of money. "We were just burning through cash at a rate we couldn't maintain," he said on the radio show show of Family Research Council president Tony Perkins. "Super PAC money didn't pay the bills on the campaign." After his loss in Wisconsin, Team Santorum was unable to raise any cash, meaning he would have had to go into the Pennsylvania primary broke.
