Rick Santorum rode the so-called "Santorum Surge" on Sunday, using his record as the "consistent conservative" to woo right-wing caucusgoers in Iowa. “I think I have a shot and I’m feeling better about that shot every day, in the top three,” Santorum said at campaign stop on Saturday. Santorum has been pitching to blue-collar voters, and he is leading among evangelical voters. He has two important things going for him just prior to the caucus: Momentum and timing. But the Republican party isn’t necessarily that excited about Santorum: GOP analyst Mike Murphy said on Saturday that the media is about to “stomp over there and eat Rick Santorum.”
