Saudi Arabia to Lash British Grandfather for Having Wine
74-year-old Karl Andree.
74-year-old Karl Andree was arrested in Saudi Arabia by religious police last year when they discovered homemade wine in his car. The British grandfather served a year in jail for the offense but has yet to be released. Now his family claims that he faces 350 lashes in a public flogging. Saudi officials allege that he won't face this punishment because of his age and poor health.
