A federal grand jury indicted a 20-year-old Saudi man for attempting to blow up a number of targets, including the Dallas home of former President George W. Bush. Khalid Aldawsari was charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, and if he is convicted, he could face up to life in prison. Aldawsari was in the U.S. on a student visa studying chemical engineering at Texas Tech University. Federal investigators accused Aldawsari of investigating power plants, nightclubs, and Bush’s home, and purchasing chemicals to build a bomb. A U.S. district judge has issued a gag order barring Aldawsari, the attorneys, and anyone else involved in the case from speaking with the media.
