The South Carolina Senate voted 37-3 to remove the Confederate flag from statehouse grounds on Monday afternoon. One of the no votes, Republican Lee Bright, took the floor to urge a debate on gay marriage. "Our governor called us in to deal with the flag that sits out front," he said. "Let’s deal with the nation of sin that we face today. We talk about abortion but this gay marriage thing, I believe we will be one nation gone under...It’s time for us to make our stand." The bill will be sent to the House.
