Scenes from NYFW's Wildest After Parties
From Philipp Plein's over-the-top rager to hotel bar soirees, The Daily Beast rounds up the best of New York Fashion Week's parties.

Reasons why thousands flock to NYC during fashion week aren’t limited to just seeing the latest threads on the runway. Celebrities, influencers, and editors also come to party and let loose after a hard day’s work of schlepping from show to show. Who doesn't want to sip champagne and watch Teyana Taylor drop it like it hot in 6-inch heels at Philipp Plein’s Party? Or watch Mia Wasikowska and Lakeith Stanfield perform an original dance theater piece a la Spike Jonze for Opening Ceremony x American Express Platinum? When it comes to NYFW parties and events, nothing is off limits, everything is bigger and over-the-top. Highlights ranged from the fully stocked caviar and champagne bars at the La Praire party, to the Kim Kardashian party favor t-shirts at the Interview x Lexus party, to Yo Gotti’s lit performance at the Rihanna x Fenty party.

Opening Ceremony x American Express Platinum orchestrated, perhaps, the most extraordinary and refreshing way to show a new collection, dance theater. Spike Jonze wrote and directed “Changers,” A Dance Story, which explores the ups and downs of relationships. The stars of the performance, Mia Wasikowska and Lakeith Stanfield, moved gracefully to the choreography of Ryan Heffington as they seamlessly slipped in and out of different outfits on stage at La Mama Experimental Theatre Club. The free-flowing silhouettes matched the vibrancy and fluidity of the story’s narrative flow. The performance was not just reserved for the fashion elite, it was also ticketed and open to the public.
