A California school district asked its eighth-grade language-arts students to consider if the Holocaust was a “propaganda tool that was used for political and monetary gain.” The Rialto Unified School District assignment requested an argumentative essay about whether or not the Holocaust "was an actual event in history" or "merely a political scheme."
