See you at the party, Arnie! Following U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker’s overturning of Proposition 8, California’s voter-approved ban on gay marriage, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and state Attorney General Jerry Brown have filed motions asking for same-sex weddings to resume in California. Gay marriage “is consistent with California’s long history of treating all people and their relationships with equal dignity and respect,” Schwarzenegger said in his legal filing. Walker, however, has agreed to put a temporary stop on gay marriages while Prop 8 advocates take their appeal to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
