London police are opening an investigation into the 2007 disappearance of then-3-year-old Madeleine McCann from her vacation home in Portugal. Citing new evidence and witnesses, Andy Redwood, the inspector in charge of the inquiry, says that there is reason to believe the British girl is still alive. “Over the last two years, what the review has told me is that there is no clear, definitive proof that Madeleine McCann is dead,” he said. There are 38 new people of interest, including 12 British nationals. Portugal closed its investigation in 2008. Here’s hoping they can find her.
