The Boy Scouts of America plans to start playing catch-up on pedophilia in its ranks, reporting alleged abusers in its “perversion files” who had not been previously brought to the attention of law enforcement. The organization previously said that it oversaw abuse among its members, keeping tabs on suspected offenders and removing them from the Scouts. The files kept over decades have been closely guarded by the Scouts, but it is expected that the release of records from 1965 to 1985 will be compelled by a court order in October.
