Seacrest Joins NBC’s Olympics Team

Ryan Seacrest finally came out with his big NBC announcement on the Today show Wednesday morning, officially putting to rest rumors that he would be taking over Matt Lauer’s role as host of the morning show. Turns out Seacrest is teaming up with NBC to cover the Olympics this summer in London as part of an ongoing plan to merge the NBCUniversal and E! family. Lauer continued to playfully prod Seacrest about replacing him, saying he wanted “names and dates” of conversations Seacrest had about joining Today. Seacrest joked that they were “mostly about filling in to do the weather.” Ha-ha.
