Seagram Heiress Paying Nxivm Leader Keith Raniere’s Legal Fees

Clare Bronfman’s role in paying legal costs for her co-accused and witnesses is questioned in legal filing.

Seagram heiress Clare Bronfman is paying legal fees for her accused fellow members of the Nxivm sex cult, including leader Keith Raniere, federal prosecutors revealed in new court filings. Bronfman, Raniere, and former Smallville actress Allison Mack are among those facing racketeering and other charges for running the group, which allegedly cultivated sex slaves for Raniere. Bronfman’s financial contributions were disclosed in a Brooklyn federal court filing, which states: “The government has learned that the legal fees of multiple witnesses and potential witnesses are also being paid by Bronfman or the Trust, and that there have been efforts to pay the legal fees of other witnesses.” Prosecutors have asked for a hearing on the matter.
